Natural - Not So Much. The Coke Can Series : On a Winter's morning, an old, faded and ripped coke can lies among dead leaves and dry sticks. Scattered objects, man-made or grown, similar or contrasting. Their shapes and markings echo each other. Even the design imprinted on the can mimics the natural patterns surrounding it. The coke can images are grouped around the corner stil life called 'Coke with Flavor and Sticks'. The 'In-Situ Triptych' pulls in 'Boutonnières' and 'Echos', while the 'Triptych of 2011' combines 'Geisha' and 'Shadow' with the center image. 'Coke with Flavor and Sticks', 'Geisha' and 'Shadow' are currently shown at the River's Edge Gallery in Kerrville, Texas. Gumbo-Limbo-Series : The bark of the Gumbo-limbo tree is as special as it is funky. The reddishly thin and flaking outer skin give the tree it's nick name 'Tourist Tree' and it's inner bark contains chlorophyll, which nourishes the tree, even during leafless periods. My Gumbo-Limbo-Series is currently on display at the River's Edge Gallery in Kerrville, Texas. Please don't hesitate to email, if you're interested in one of the images.
